Save money by doing a little comparison shopping before making your purchase.  There’s a good chance you’ll find a few stores selling the same merchandise at different prices. If you decide to shop online, don’t forget to factor in shipping costs, speed of shipping and gift wrapping availability when deciding which retailer to order from.

Many stores open earlier and close later during the holidays. Take advantage of their extended hours and shop during nonpeak times to avoid crowded stores and long lines.

 

Donate to charity

The holidays are the perfect time to give to those in need. If you have friends or family members who don’t need anything new, make a donation to a local charity in their name.
